Here I recount what has happened today when I played Dwarf Fortress. This does not update every day as I have things like works and chores, but gives an insight into this entertaining game.
Umbrocolts
2nd March 2023
- Someone stole a large gem artefact from the farmers guild. Main suspect is 'Salmon' the fisherdwarf, a member of the guild.
- But my captain of the guard 'Great-Gem' sucks at interrogation and can't get him to admit to the crime.
- It looks like the other members of the guild like 'Broiler' conspired with him to steal the artefact. Also 'Great-Gem' made the artefact.
- Broke into the cavern layer. Sealed it off until I can make a proper airlock to stop creatures breaching my fortress.
- Did work to hopefully prevent overgrazing leading to desertification.
- Put a high quality statue of a cow in my unhappiest dwarves room to hopefully cheer him up. He loves cows and is the dungeon master.
- A dog had puppies. My whole fortress is filling up with dogs, I have lots of war dogs but no heart to use them in battle.
Sadly this fortress's save died due to complications in making a new profile for my windows computer.

- My best carpenter died of depression because she couldn't find the exact kind of cloth she wanted for her artifact.
- As this is a reclamed fort, I decided to start settling in the old parts of the fort, putting a new archer squad down in the reclaimed bedrooms to protect my dwarves.
- Discovered the second cavern layer, then promptly sealed it up for now. Annoyingly it is flooded like the first layer.
