Seedship

About

And when they knew the Earth was doomed, they built a ship. Less like an ark, more like a seed: dormant but with potential. In its heart, a thousand colonists in frozen sleep, chosen and trained to start civilisation again on a new world.

- Seedship intro

This game is by John Ayliff.

this is a game about transporting 1000 human colonists to a new world after Earth. It is a tense resource management game, just as much chance as it is skill.

It also challenges you morally. Will you sacrifice colonists to escape a black hole? Or risk damage to your systems that could prevent you from ever reaching a new home for the rest of the colonists?

Stats of the ship are on the left, and information about the planet in the center.

Summary

I love the concept of this game and the simple UI is pleasing. there are accessibility options for colour blindness which is a really nice touch.

The various scenarios you can encounter help to craft a meaningful story of the seed ship and its passengers. you become attached to the unnamed number humans you carry.

Part of me wishes there was some way to integrate zarkonnen's planet generator or something similar for a visual image of the planets you discover. But perhaps having the planets left personal interpretation is better.
