Epitaph

About

idle game about existential risks and the death of civilizations.
- Max Kreminski, the game's creator.

A game about the life, death and epitaphs of alien civilisations. You can simply watch these civilisations develop without interference, or teach them new technologies. If a civilisation dies, its story slowly fades away. Eventually new ones come to take its place.

There is a conflict within this simple game. The choice to let these civilisations find their own way. Or to interfear and watch them develop more quickly. Either way these civilisations are fragile and, interfere or not, they are likely to extinct themselves though mishaps--Or be destroyed by environmental disasters outside of their control.

It is possible to win. But I've yet to, if I do I'll add a spolier marked passage about it. A fair warning this game is not easy.

I won!

The alien civilisation joins you in space!

three dead civilisations, and one living one with options to teach them technology
A game of epitaph. Three dead and one living civilisation.

Summary

I love this concept. Love it. With simple text based gameplay it captures themes and storytelling that AAA games struggle with.
